Jeffrey K. McKee, PhD
Professor, Department of Anthropology; Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology - The Ohio State University

Jeffrey McKee is a physical anthropologist conducting research on hominid evolution and paleoecology. He has directed excavations at the early hominid sites of Taung and Makapansgat, and has published on fossils from other South African sites as well. His current interests focus on computer modeling and simulation of evolutionary and fossilization processes, toward an understanding of the pace and causes of human evolution in an ecological context. He teaches courses on Human Evolutionary Anatomy, Human Ecological Adaptations, and Human Origins.

Dr. McKee received a B.A. from Miami University, and an A.M. and PhD. from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Following 10 years as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy and Human Biology at the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa, he joined the faculty at the Ohio State University in 1996.
