Beth continued working on resolving problems with strange, incorrect itypes, unused location codes, and several maintenance projects found in special collections records. She also identified materials housed at Iron Mountain and worked with Nancy Helmick to change their location and status.
Records deflected from the ILL flow as part of the project to mark records that will not circulate were reviewed. This seems to be working as planned, and will hopefully save significant staff time in ILL.
Staff from the department attended several events: staff meetings, interviews with candidates for Associate Curator positions, open meetings, etc.
Broken links caused by the server migration were identified in collection-level records for OSU and Polar archives. These will be corrected at a later time.
Mary worked on regular cataloging until her absence. Manga and comic book cataloging continued as usual. Pat updated URLs and edited some descriptions for CGA collection records. Anca cataloged two bins of comic books and serials in a variety of foreign languages sent from CGA.
Beth continued working with Nancy Helmick to plan for implementing Millennium circulation for CGA, including updating authorizations and item records. Originally planned for Sept. 1, implementation was delayed until January, but it was good to have this prep work completed ahead of schedule.
Joan, Mary, and Nataliya made significant progress on the Charvat (1926-1950) materials, including many NACO authority records and BIBCO contributions. Joan took over responsibility for this project in Mary’s absence. Sang Kyo finished searching several boxes of project material and sorting for subsequent cataloging.
Pat added records, mainly in-analytics, for items from the Tess Gallagher Literary Archives.
Natalyia continued cataloging Hilandar materials, especially the Jaksa and Biljana Djalevich Serbian Library, microfiches of Slavic imprints from IDC, theses and other gift books, both original and copy cataloging.
Anca cataloged materials not found on OSCAR in preparation for the move, as well as new orders.
Sang Kyo began cataloging the Sam Hamill Poetry and Translation Archive.
Pat cataloged items for the Irish and Avant Writings, from John Frederick for the Rudolph Children's Science collection, and diverse backlogs. He created about 100 collection records on OSCAR for Rare from emailed information, and also updated existing collection records. He also answered questions from Sang Kyo and Nataliya.
Joan cataloged materials including Alvin H. Reiss vocal scores, Hilda Schuster papers in the Dalcroze School of Music collection, and S. W. McIntire video collection, along with the normal flow of French and Dramatists scripts and ongoing receipts.
Anca cataloged Czech language serials from the Jarka Burian collection.
