Jennifer Keuhn raised the possibility of coding some special collections materials as “no photocopy/ no lend,” to eliminate the tasks involved in fielding ILL requests. Jennifer then implemented some of these changes working directly with OCLC.
Katie cataloged print materials (books and serials) from the biography and sports sections of the University Archives reference collection.
Mary continued to catalog collections, including finishing the Wolf/Gau collection and keeping up with new materials. She continued to supervise comic book cataloging. Anca cataloged serials from San Francisco Academy of Comic Art and other collections.
Joan and Mary continued progress on the Charvat (1926-1950) materials, including many NACO authority records and BIBCO contributions.
No material was cataloged for Hilandar due to the vacancy, but at the end of March, we were pleased to hire Nataliya Oliynyk who will begin work in April.
Pat cataloged materials from the Irish and Avant Writing collections. He also worked on gifts from Ronald L. Stuckey, Frances Kinsinger (Nelson Algren titles), William E. Jones UFO, and Erika Bourguignon. He created several collection records and updated URLs in other records caused by the move to the new server. He processed (either recataloging or adding item records) to approximately 90 items returned to Rare from the Depository.
Sang Kyo completed cataloging the Margaret Sila Barres Collection of Regional American Cookbooks, with assistance from Pat.
Anca continued to catalog new acquisitions as well as pre-1800 materials identified as problems in the move process.
Circulation procedures were revisited after several improvements were made to prevent patron requests and to refine the loan rules. TRI staff and student assistants created patron records “on-the-fly” for non-OSU patrons, and created item and bibliographic records for uncataloged material.
Joan worked to problem-solve circulation procedures. She also cataloged transfers from Rare Books, including record albums, Samuel French and Dramatists plays, Lawrence Wm. Kuhl, Ed Graczyk, and TRI donor flows. She assisted in the creation of item records to allow material to be moved to the Depository when requested by the fire marshal.
Anca began cataloging the Jarka Burian collection of Czech theatre materials.
