Hard-to Find Information
TEXTS OF RESOLUTIONS
- U.N. Documentation Centre
- Online access:
- General Assembly, 1946-present.
- Security Council, 1946-present.
- Economic and Social Council, 1992 -.
- Official Documents System - (See above.)
- CD-ROM Index to UN documents (See above.)
- Full text of General Assembly resolutions from 1981 to present, and for the
Security Council from 1974 to present.
- Resolutions and Decisions Adopted by the General Assembly during. . . .
[Find in Library:
1946-1986,
1991-present)]
- Table of Contents lists resolutions by number. Full text of each resolution is
given. Also listed are decisions which were adopted mainly as a result of reports of
various committees.
- An alternate way to find text of resolutions is as follows: If you know the body from
which the resolution came, consult the appropriate Index to the Proceedings. . .
(see above). Some later volumes include a separate cumulative
index for resolutions at the back of the volume. (This separate index begins in 1975
for the General Assembly, 1976 for the Security Council, and 1987 for the
Economic and Social Council). If there is not a separate resolution index at the back,
look under subject and entries will be arranged by general documents, resolutions, etc.
Find the document number and go to the set on microfiche or microcard.
Texts of important resolutions may sometimes be found in the United Nations Yearbook
[Find in Library.]
VOTING RECORDS
-
UNBISNET Voting Records (1983-present).
- CD-ROM Index to UN Documents - (See above.)
- Alternately, use the appropriate Index to the Proceedings. . .
(see above). It is easiest to
use the Resolution Index section if there is one (1975- General Assembly; 1976-
Security Council; 1987 - Social and Economic Council).
If there is not a special resolutions index at the back, look under subject and entries
will be arranged by general documents, resolutions, etc.
Find the UN document number and go then to the set on microfiche or microcard. (On going
to the microcard, you may, on occasion, find a cross reference and have to go through
several additional steps).
