How to find specific journals and magazines at OSUL |
||
|
From the OSUL Home Page: 1. Click on OSCAR (OSU's online catalog) 2. Click on WEB OSCAR 3. Click on ALL SERIALS 4. Click on SERIAL TITLE 5. Type in the title of the journal or magazine (NOT the article title or author) NOTE: For one-word titles, type a pipe sign (|), located on the backward slash key, immediately after the title: newsweek| 6. If OSCAR retrieves more than one record, then compare the volume/date information in your citation with the volume/date information in each record until you find a match NOTE: If a journal is available in electronic format, there will be a bar that reads, "connect to web site", in red. Click on it to go to the full text, electronic version of that journal. 7. If there is a large number of holdings for a particular journal, you can scroll down to the grey bar that reads, "View additional copies or search for a specific volume/copy." Type the volume number you are looking for into the white box to the right of the grey bar, then click on the grey bar. NOTE: To find articles in journals or magazines you must first search in one or more online databases that index these materials. Under Other Online Resources (on the OSUL Home page), click on By Title for an alphabetical list of databases or By Subject for a list of databases arranged by broad subject. |
