Current Population Reports P-80 Series
Reports presenting data on the characteristics of persons admitted to and discharged from prisons and on the movement of prison population. Data are based on an annual census of prisoners in state and federal prisons and reformatories.
Pages vary. Reports numbered 12-15 were issued 1947-1949 (discontinued); reports numbered 1-11 were issued in Series PN, Special Reports on Pisoners in State and Federal Prisons and Reformatories. This series represents a continuation of Series PN with the individual release numbers continued in sequence. See also annual reports, titled Prisoners in State and Federal Prisons and Reformatories.
Special Reports on Prisoners in State and Federal Prisons and Reformatories
Pages vary. Reports numbered 1-4 were issued prior to 1946; reports 5-10, issued 1946, and report 11, issued 1947. Report numbered 12, issued 1947, report 13, issued 1948, and reports 14-15, issued 1949 in Series P-80, Prisoners (discontinued). Annual reports, titled Prisoners in State and Federal Prisons and Reformatories with data for 1943, 1944, 1945, and 1946, issued separately (without series identification number), 1946-1948. The identification of this series was changed to P-80, Prisoners, in 1947, with the individual release numbers continued in sequence.
