Music/Dance Library - Media Center
Everyone is welcome to use Music/Dance Library materials. But they may be borrowed only by holders of a valid OSU ID card, an OSU Libraries Courtesy Card, or a valid ID from an OhioLINK institution. For details, please see OSU Libraries Circulation Services and Policies.
Compact Discs. Call numbers for compact discs have a prefix of LP3 or LP4. Our CDs can be searched in the OSU Library Catalog. Compact discs circulate (maximum 10) for three weeks and can be renewed unless requested by another patron. Like books, scores, and other items, most of our multimedia items can be requested online. Please specify the Music/Dance Library as pickup location.
33 1/3 Vinyl Records. Call numbers for most long-playing records have a prefix of LP1, LP2, LP0, or LPR, and can be searched in the OSU Library Catalog. Some of our older vinyl recordings are accessible by means of the card catalog located in the Media Center. These items typically have alpha-numerical abbreviations and manufacturer’s serial numbers, e.g., CAP 2066, COL 1033, RCA 10988. Vinyl recordings must be used in the library. They are easily damaged, so please handle them by the edges only and use the cue mechanisms on the turntables to raise and lower the tone arms.
Audio Tapes. Audio tapes must be used in the library. Similarly restricted to in-library use are class reserve tapes and most recital recordings in any format—reel-to-reel, cassette, DAT, or CD.
Video Recordings. Videos
circulate (maximum 10) for three weeks and can be renewed unless requested by another patron. Like books, scores, and other items, most of our multimedia items can be requested online. Please specify the Music/Dance Library as pickup location.
Items on reserve must be used in the library.
