PROGRAM

A cooperative venture between Kent State University School of Library and Information Science and the Ohio State University Libraries, the KSU/OSUL Diversity Student Fellowship supports graduate study leading to a Master of Library and Information Science degree. The fellowship is available for a period not to exceed five consecutive semesters, starting Fall 2001 and ending Spring 2003. The Kent State University School of Library and Information Science offers a full tuition scholarship for enrollment in KSU graduate courses during the period covered by the fellowship. The Ohio State University Libraries provide a stipend of $10,000 to be distributed monthly throughout the fellowship period. The fellowship is nonrenewable.

FELLOWSHIP REQUIREMENTS

• Acceptance into the Kent State University School of Library and Information Science with degree to be pursued at KSU-SLIS at Columbus. (Click here for KSU application instructions and forms, click here for Fellowship application form.)
• U.S. citizenship.
• Receipt of an accredited Bachelor's degree no later than June 2001.
• A minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 across all institutions attended.
• Submission of BOTH the KSU and Fellowship applications, transcripts and reference materials to the KSU-SLIS Columbus office, not Kent, no later than April 15, 2001; the selection process will begin April 16, 2001.

• Initial enrollment in Fall semester, classes commencing August 27, 2001.
• Establishment of an anticipated graduation date by December 1, 2001.
• A minimum enrollment of 6 semester credits in Fall and Spring semesters and 3 credits in Summer semester, not to exceed 15 credit hours in any semester.
• Continuous enrollment in KSU classes until degree completion.
• Completion of the MLIS degree no later than Spring commencement 2003.
