This is an up-to-date work containing signed scholarly articles of varying degrees of comprehensiveness pertaining to all aspects of Jewish history and culture. Most articles are accompanied by bibliographies. Volume one includes the index, general, rabbinical and bibliographical abbreviations, a Jewish calendar for the years 1920-2020, a list of Hebrew newspapers and periodicals, a chart of Hasidic dynasties, and other special features. Supplementary articles, e.g., "Hebrew Language", "Masorah", etc. and a corrigenda section, are included in volume 16.

  Although dated, this standard scholarly work remains useful for many of its
articles, biographies and bibliographies. The Jewish Encyclopedia: a guide to its contents, an aid to its use,by Louis Jacobs (New York : Funk & Wagnalls, 1906) serves as an index to this work.

This annual provides indexing for scholarly articles in journals and collected
works that pertain to all aspects of Jewish studies. The index is arranged by broad subject areas, e.g., Bible, Rabbinic literature and Jewish law, Jewish history in the Diaspora, The State of Israel. Each section has its own internal arrangement. Book reviews are also indexed. Separate author and subject indexes for Hebrew (and Yiddish) articles and the articles in European languages are provided.
