Recommended Browsers

The OSU Libraries recommends that you use these browsers, which have been tested with OSCAR (the online catalog) and the search engine interfaces used on the major reference databases to which OSU Libraries subscribes:

• Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6.0
• Netscape 7.x
• Mozilla 5.0
• Safari (for Macs)

Netscape 6.0 is not recommended as many databases search features do not work with this browser.

Common Problems

The types of problems you might encounter if the browser you are using is not compatible with the database search engine are

• cannot search;
• search results do not display correctly;
• cannot print, download or email marked records.
