Bibliography of Illinois Geology
The Bibliography of Illinois Geology covers publications and
articles on Illinois geology from the earliest published article in
1752 to the current year. It includes the previously printed ISGS
Bulletin 92, Bibliography and Index of Illinois Geology through 1965,
and ISGS Bulletin 105, Bibliography and Index of Illinois Geology
1966-1996. The bibliography includes citations for all of the
fields of research at the Illinois State Geological Survey, including
(but not limited to) geology, groundwater, industrial minerals,
petroleum, coal, environmental geology, geochemistry, and geophysics.
Publications are included only if they relate specifically to Illinois.
The GeoRef database from the American Geological Institute provided
a majority of the citations used in this bibliography. Various other
databases, including the ISGS Library catalog, were also searched.
Citations were verified when necessary. GeoRef is used as a basis for
the level of detail for the indexing.
The online bib includes the entire database starting with 1823 and is updated periodically by Kansas Geological Survey staff. It has replaced printed bibliographies.
Cyrus C. Babb compiled the first Bibliography of Maine Geology in 1913. Updated editions of this initial bibliography were published in 1932, 1958, and 1972. The on-line edition is the next step in providing timely access to information on Maine's geological resources. Compiled by Robert D. Tucker and Marc C. Loiselle, Maine Geological Survey.
The database presently is a combination of three print resources from
the NDGS, and updates:
The dates in the bibliography range from 1814 to 2003. The bibliography is still being populated with data sources as they are discovered. New data is entered monthly.
WashingtonThis searchable database includes all the citations in the series of bibliographies produced by the Washington Division of Geology and Earth Resources (and predecessor agencies) from 1939 to present, and includes materials published since 1798. Virtually all of the items included in this database are held at the DGER library in Olympia, Washington. It will always be a work in progress; new citations are added monthly, and errors and unconformities are corrected monthly. Includes the Tsunami Library Catalog of the National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Program.
