County Highway maps

The Ohio Department of Transportation has a Mapping CD that contains three different MicroStation (DGN) files for each county in the State of Ohio. These three files contain various features and can be used to produce ODOT's county map series. This CD can be obtained by completing an order form and mailing it, along with payment, to the address at the top of the form. The MicroStation files can also be downloaded (each county separately).

GIS: City of Columbus

A website from the City of Columbus. Contains all the data needed to create GIS maps of Columbus. It is free to use, but registration is needed.

Geographic Information Management Systems (GIMS)

The GIMS web pages contains information related to digital geographic data and the Geographic Information Management Systems Program. There is a searchable database of the information available.

Geographic Information Systems Service Center

GISSC is focused on the effective and efficient use of Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies throughout the state of Ohio. OGRIP (Ohio Geographically Referenced Information Program) serves as the primary coordinating body for spatial and geographic information initiatives between federal, state, regional and local governments.

Great Lakes Information Network

The Great Lakes Information Network (GLIN) provides one place for people to find information relating to the binational Great Lakes-St. Lawrence region of North America. GLIN offers a wealth of data and information about the region's environment, economy, tourism, education and more. Thanks to its strong network of state, provincial, federal and regional partner agencies and organizations, GLIN has become a necessary component of informed decisionmaking, and a trusted and reliable source of information for those who live, work or have an interest in the Great Lakes region.

LANDSAT 7 Satellite Image Server

Ohio based satellite data available for download or web viewing. Several views available including infrared and true color composite. New imagery is available every 16 days. Provided by OhioLINK but access is not restricted.

MapTech: Historical topographic maps

Office of Aerial Engineering

Contains digital images of Ohio 7.5 minute topographic maps. Can be selected by quadrangle name or by clicking on a state map. Contains other types of maps as well.

The Ohio Department of Transportation has recently scanned and made available for online viewing or download a large number of the State's Official Transportation Maps. Currently the 2001 map as well as a number of prior versions dating back to 1912 (the first transportation/highway map) are available.

OhioView is a consortium of state universities, the USGS EROS Data Center, the NASA Glenn Research Center, OhioLINK, The Ohio Supercomputer Center, OARnet, and NREN whose mission is to promote the low-cost distribution of US Government civilian satellite data for public use.
