GeoRef is the electronic version of the American Geological Institute's geoscience database containing over 1.9 million records of North America since 1785, and other areas of the world since 1933.
GeoRef Preview DatabaseFree access to references of recent geoscience publications (via AGI)! Each weekend, completed references are removed from the Preview database and transferred to GeoRef, new references are added, and changes are made in the remaining data.

LefalophodonThis is an informal and incomplete guide to the history of evolutionary biology from about 1800 to about 1950. It is maintained by John Alroy. Its main emphases are on the late 19th century and on paleontology. It includes biographies, photographs, a timeline of major events from 1800 to 1950, and more.
Strange Science - The Rocky Road to Modern Paleontology and BiologyEver wonder how people figured out there used to be such things as dinosaurs? Curious about how scientists learned to reconstruct fossil skeletons? The knowledge we take for granted today was slow in coming, and along the way, scientists and scholars had some weird ideas. This Web site shows some of their mistakes, provides a timeline of events, gives biographies of a few of the people who have gotten us where we are today, and lists resources you can use to learn more.
Scripps Institution of Oceanography ArchivesWebsite includes biographies of prominent oceanographers, a photo gallery, histories, and full text documents as well as a guide to the Archives.
Cumulative Bibliography on the History of OceanographyThe Cumulative Bibliography on the History of Oceanography (CBHO) is published annually in the History of Oceanography Newsletter in order to gather in one place the scattered literature on the history of oceanography. CBHO strives to list all works on the history of oceanography.
This bibliography attempts to list all substantial autobiographies, biographies, festschrifts and obituaries of prominent oceanographers, marine biologists, fisheries scientists, and other scientists who worked in the marine environment published in journals and books after 1922, the publication date of Herdman's Founders of Oceanography.

These geoscientists revolutionized our understanding of the atmosphere, oceans,
climate, and environment. Their work formed the foundation on which current
research depends.
