The Collection Awareness Unit serves to bring attention to specialized expertise that is available to patrons of The Ohio State University Libraries. We bring to the attention of the campus community, the resources that our Subject Librarians offer for research in specialized areas of study, and the services and opportunities available to patrons in the Libraries.
We are experimenting with various strategies to generate awareness and interest in the University Libraries as a resource for gathering information for research and especially for sharing information about new developments in each of the disciplines and areas of study important to our constituents.
The primary focus is in developing collaborative relationships with University departments, professional groups, student groups, and organizations in the greater community. At present, we are developing processes of creating displays and events that will be presented in the renovated Thompson Library, and other OSU Library locations.
