
Nine Methods of searching are available: Creator, Publication, Title, Date, Topic, Shown, Genre, Format, or a combination of criteria.
Creator: Names associated with the creation of the work.
Publication: Title of journal, magazine, newspaper, etc, in which the work was originally published.
Title: Name or caption of work or keywords.
Date: Composition date or publication date/date range if known.
Topic: Words or phrases that describe the subject of the work.
Shown: Persons and objects depicted in the work.
Genre: A category or type of work.
Format: Physical type of work.
Creator: Names associated with the creation of the work.

To search multiple authors, hold down the shift (contiguous) or ctrl (discrete) key while clicking selections.
Publication:: Title of journal, magazine, newspaper, etc, in which the work was originally published.

To search multiple dates, enter dates in the YYYY-MM-DD format or in the YYYY format, use or or OR between entries:

Topic: Words or phrases that describe the subject of the work.

Retrieves: All records in which France and Communism are both a part of the topic. ExampleTo broaden a search when you are not certain, you can type in a few letters followed by an '*'. This will result in all titles that have a word beginning with those few letters:
