The University Archives is a department of The Ohio State University Libraries, and the contents of the Archives are a part of the Libraries' on-line catalog (OSCAR). The Archives shares a modern (1995) building with the Library Depository which provides an ideal environment for research and preservation.  Nearly all of the research materials in the Archives are available without restriction. The official minutes and records of most administrative offices and committees, as well as the papers of distinguished faculty and records of student organizations are housed in the Archives. For assistance with a brief reference request, e-mail Ask-An-Archivist.

Student records, such as transcripts, are available through the Registrar's Office, not the Archives.
