ARTIFACTS COLLECTION SUBGROUP

The Artifacts Collection Sub-Group contains 1,557 three-dimensional objects presented to, or collected by, Senator John H. Glenn, Jr. throughout his varied careers. Dating from 1917 to 2006, the wide assortment of artifacts in the collection help document and illustrate all aspects of Senator Glenn's life from his childhood in the small Ohio town of New Concord to his present position as chairman of the Board of Directors for the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University. Also included in the collection are materials pertaining to the life and accomplishments of Senator Glenn's wife, Anna "Annie" Castor Glenn.

ARRANGEMENT: The arrangement of the materials within the Artifacts Collection Sub-Group consists of the following seventeen categories:

Artifacts within each category may be arranged further into seven possible sub-categories: Annie Glenn; Corporate; Family; Military; NASA; Post-Senate; and Senate.

ACCESS: The Artifacts Collection Sub-Group is open to public research under the rules and regulations of The Ohio State University.  Researchers should note that many of the artifacts in the collection are on exhibit at the John Glenn School for Public Affairs or at various museums, including the U.S. Astronauts Hall of Fame in Titusville, Florida; the John and Annie Glenn Historic Site in New Concord, Ohio; and the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) in Columbus, Ohio.

COPYRIGHTS:  John and Anna Glenn have dedicated such copyrights as they possess in the Artifacts Collection Sub-Group to the public. Consideration of all other copyrights is the responsibility of the author and the publisher.
