MINUTES
- Annual Report
- A new Draft of the Annual Report will be emailed on 12-09-05 for TAC member review.
- Biggest impact on Libraries will be Main Library’s move to Ackerman
- Impact on New Student Orientations (NSO).
- We will assist with technical issues as needed.
- Please give Barb feedback by Friday, 09 December 2005, at 3:00PM.
- Annual Report DUE before faculty meeting on Tuesday, 13 December 2005, and Barb will give a synopsis at this meeting.
- Meeting with Kathy Dean about PLT

- It is felt that her students do not need to attend NSO as they are more advanced.
- TAC to discuss using some of Kathy Dean’s training techniques in NSO at our January meeting.
- Carmen may be used.
- Carmen would solve the problem of where to have NSO once Main Lib. moves.

- New Student Orientation - Suggested Changes
- Ask students a question about their High School Library.
- Ask students to raise their hands (or have as question in evaluation form) if they had online library catalog in High School.
- Ask students to raise their hands (or have as question in evaluation form) if they had card catalog in High School.
- Get rid of the “internet” question as everyone now surfs.
- Replace O.S.C.A.R. with “Library Catalog.”
- PUSH Library Catalog NOT Google (Google Scholar okay).
- Possibly have live demonstrations of the web regarding our databases.
- Get the “Vision Statement” in the University Libraries “Guide to Resources and Services.”
- Get the “Service Values” in a better place (or in two places) and as a handout.

- We agree with Susan that TAC should sponsor Chuck Morrow-Jones offer to give an OIT security for non-IT staff workshop---possibly mandatory.
- The OIT security antispam software is not part of Eudora.
- Lisa will email us the URL on “how to.”
- Could we ask our IT people to talk with OIT about giving this workshop?
