Meeting with Kathy Dean about PLT
--- Barb
It is felt that her students do not need to attend NSO as they are more advanced.
TAC to discuss using some of Kathy Dean’s training techniques in NSO at our January meeting.
Carmen may be used.
Carmen would solve the problem of where to have NSO once Main Lib. moves.

New Student Orientation - Suggested Changes
Ask students a question about their High School Library.
Ask students to raise their hands (or have as question in evaluation form) if they had online library catalog in High School.
Ask students to raise their hands (or have as question in evaluation form) if they had card catalog in High School.
Get rid of the “internet” question as everyone now surfs.
Replace O.S.C.A.R. with “Library Catalog.”
PUSH Library Catalog NOT Google (Google Scholar okay).
Possibly have live demonstrations of the web regarding our databases.
Get the “Vision Statement” in the University Libraries “Guide to Resources and Services.”
Get the “Service Values” in a better place (or in two places) and as a handout.
Meetings/Training locations
as a result of renovation
Switch NSO to Carmen (?).
Move NSO to SEL (?).
Storage of materials
during renovation
SEL was discussed
Other possibilities
Ask Staff Advisory where they are having events --- they will likely have storage at that place.
Ask Administration where they are having meetings.
