The daily schedules and calendars consist of five cubic feet of typescript listings, arranged in chronological order, of Senator Glenn's appointments, meetings, Senate sessions, committee hearings, and other events scheduled on a per day basis. These daily schedule sheets provide an outline of Senator Glenn's activities during his twenty-four years in the U.S. Senate. The sheets list the scheduled time of each event paired with either a brief notation as to the event purpose, the name of the person or persons scheduled with an appointment, or the type of Senate function. Folders dated from 1975 through 1984 also may contain memoranda and correspondence pertaining to a specific scheduled event or pertaining to Senator Glenn's schedule in general.
Beginning in 1985 and running through 1998, the daily schedule sheets are supplemented by folders containing copies of the working and final calendars for Senator Glenn's schedule. Memoranda on scheduling issues during this time period are segregated into separate folders by year.
The sub-series also includes one cubic foot of notebooks containing the telephone logs kept by Senator Glenn's scheduling staff from March 1985 through October 1995 and from January 1997 through December 1998. These notebooks list the telephone calls fielded by the scheduling staff on a daily basis, and contain the name of the person placing the call, the affiliated organization if applicable, and brief notes on the reason for the telephone call.
Researchers should note that further information on Senator Glenn's activities in the Washington, D.C. area during Congressional sessions is located within the Washington Date Files Sub-series listed below.
