The Press News Conferences Sub-series consists of one-half cubic foot of materials dating from 1977 to 1992. Contained within the sub-series are the transcripts of radio news conferences given by Senator Glenn from February 1977 through March 1982 and from July 1985 through February 1986. Also included are Senator Glenn's statements, talking points, and notes for his radio news conferences given on scattered dates between December 1986 and March 1992. Broadcast live by various Ohio radio stations, the news conferences usually lasted from twelve to thirteen minutes. During each news conference Senator Glenn would answer questions from one or more reporters representing a variety of radio and television stations and newspapers in Ohio. Generally given on a bi-weekly basis from 1977 to 1982, the news conferences became less frequent in later years. Topics covered by the news conferences include domestic and foreign policy issues and events, Ohio related issues, and current legislative measures before Congress.
