SERIES 6: MAPS 11 oversized items
The Audiovisual Collection contains a few large maps collected by John Glenn during both his NASA and U.S. Senate careers. One map is of Glenn's hometown of New Concord, Ohio and features various points of interest, including Glenn's boyhood home. Three of the maps, dating from the 1980s and 1990s, pertain to Glenn's work as co-chairman of the Great Lakes Task Force and feature Great Lakes economic and environmental issues. The remaining maps pertain to Glenn's NASA missions and include his personal map of the solar system. Other NASA maps show the orbital paths of the Friendship 7 space flight and the orbital paths flown during the Space Shuttle Discovery Mission STS-95.
Researchers should note that additional maps are located within the Military Series and the NASA Series of the Non-Senate Papers Sub-Group.
