Chicago Style Citation Guide: Notes-Bibliography
(Recommended for Literature, History, and the Arts)
This guide is based on The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition (University of Chicago Press, 2003). Examples are shown for the Notes-Bibliography system recommended for literature, history, and the arts. Bibliography items are listed alphabetically at the end of the research paper. Notes (footnotes or endnotes) citations are placed in the body of the paper.
