APA Citation Guide
This guide is based on the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th edition (2010).
Use the Reference style for items listed alphabetically at the end of the research paper. The In-Text style is for the same items referred to in the body of the paper. Please note that the citation style for articles now includes the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) when it is available. Also, after the first line, citations should be indented 1/2 inch.
For additional examples, please refer to the Publication Manual, 6th ed. available in the Thompson Library Grand Reading Room and at other Ohio State University Libraries (Call Number: BF76.7 P83 2010). See also the "Frequently Asked Questions" page at the APA Style website (http://www.apastyle.org/learn/faqs/index.aspx).
For other Websites that include citation examples, see the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL).
