Learning Spaces

Thompson Library provides a variety of flexible learning spaces for small groups. Group study rooms are  available, primarily on the ground floor.  These rooms include HD flat panel monitors.  Students may check out cables at the Circulation Desk to connect their laptops to the monitors when working in these rooms.  Several rooms may be reserved in advance.  Small seminar style rooms on the third and fourth floors are also available to students for group study when not in use for other purposes.  Group study rooms are also provided in many other library locations.

Librarians provide course-related instruction and teach credit courses in media-rich classrooms on the first floor (149 and 150 Thompson). These classrooms are not available through the classroom pool, and cannot be scheduled for regular classes.

The Learning Collaboration Studio (LCS) is a joint venture of the Libraries, the Office of the CIO, and the Digital Union. This reconfigurable high-tech learning environment is located in the Science and Engineering Library. More detailed information is available on the LCS site.
