INTRODUCTION

HousePress was a unique fine small press (or micro press) project undertaken by Derek Beaulieu in Calgary, Alberta, Canada from 1999 to 2003. It was unusual in that in addition to fine printing, handmade materials and bindings, and experimental designs, it included some of the best innovative writing, poetry, and visual poetry of those years. This collection is a fairly complete archive of all the materials Beaulieu published under the HousePress imprint. It also includes several issues of Dandelion, a literary and art journal published by the University of Calgary, for which Beaulieu was Assistant Editor.
