Mike Finn is a playwright, actor, and director born in Limerick, Ireland in 1962. A founding member of the Island Theatre Company in Limerick, he has performed in over 20 of its productions, including Pigtown, Borrowed Robes, The Elephant Man, Translations, and Northern Star. He co-founded The Umbrella Project street theatre company in 1995 and has directed numerous projects for them.
Mike was International Writer in residence at the University of Iowa and the Burdines Distinguished Visiting Artist at the University of South Florida, Tampa.
The Crunch, an adaptation of Moliere’s Tartuffe, was written by Mike with Terry Devlin and premiered in Limerick at Belltable Arts Centre in 1992. Charlie Chaplin’s Mother Was An Irishman, also co-authored with Terry Devlin, premiered at Belltable in1995. Pigtown premiered at Belltable in 1999 and has played in Dublin, Galway, San Jose, California, and at The Irish Repertory Theatre in NYC. Ellis Island premiered in 2002 at University of South Florida.
