INTRODUCTION

Reed Altemus, 1961- , is an internationally known copy artist, Fluxus artist, mail artist, experimental writer and visual poet. He has performed his own and others’ Fluxus-type works in venues all over the map. The Reed Altemus Collection is an extensive collection of mail art, copy art, and visual poetry from a variety of artists and authors. Ranging in date from the 1980s to 2010, the collection contains Reed Altemus’ personal correspondence as well as books, assemblages, serials, and other unique items from the international mail/copy art community. About half of the collection is made up of different serials and magazines such as the Lost and Found Times, Kairan, Les Guides Noirs, Xerolage, Generator, Nada, Brain Cell, UNI/vers, Rampike, and many others.
