Census Index

Census Index is an attempt to improve access to United States Census information in library collections by providing an online index to Census publications.

Phase 1
The initial phase of the project focused on Decennial Census publications produced between 1790 and 1945. Records for this period have been entered into to the database. Records for publications produced between 1945 and 1972 are currently being entered.

Future Phases

  • Image files of Tables of Contents and sample tables from selected volumes.
  • Records for publications produced between 1972 and 1997.
