Things to Keep in Mind......

  • Library instruction should be prearranged well in advance for room availability and resource access
  • Understand the complexity of campus parking
  • A visitors BuckID card is needed to use library copiers and printers (coins and money are not accepted)
  • Visitors are assigned to a name and password for computer access
  • Teachers should provide clear objectives/lesson plans to tailor specific needs for their students
  • We can also visit your classroom!

  • Academic libraries are different from high school and public libraries...WE ARE BIG!
  • Know Your A,B,C's and 1,2,3's (LC vs. Dewey)
  • Be familiar with citation styles for, example APA
  • Know how to evaluate sources and think critically
  • Be familiar with scholarly journals and databases
  • Research is a process
  • Everything is not on the web or Google
