Research Commons

Computer Lab

The Research Commons Computer Lab (Room #360) is located on the third floor of the 18th Avenue Library, and is available to faculty, postdoc, staff and graduate students of any discipline. The Computer Lab can be accessed in person (onsite), or remotely. 

For remote access, please review the rules before reserving a PC.

Remote Access Hours 

8am - 11pm, Monday - Sunday 

In Person Access Hours

9am - 7pm, Monday - Thursday; 9am - 5pm, Friday

  • Gray Pod (closet to the door): spatial and numerical data software.
  • Scarlet Pod (furthest from the door): text analysis software

Geolytics

  • Geolytics is a research data set that allows researchers to access population, demographic and census data.
Refinitiv Eikon
  • Refinitiv Eikon is an online technology solution that provides researchers access to industry-leading financial data, industry insights and fact-based news sources.

Due to licensing requirements, these services are only accessible on site at the Research Commons. They are only available on Gray PC # 15. To make a reservation, please email us at researchcommons@osu.edu.

All PCs in the Computer Lab are equipped with hardware that allow for research data manipulation or processing, with three PCs having advanced hardware for more robust processes. Please see the hardware information for the Computer Lab PCs below.
