Brutus on Parade!
The Ohio State University kicked off its “Brutus On Parade” campaign October 31 with a special preview of a community-wide program designed to benefit the Thompson Library renovation project. University President E. Gordon Gee, Director of Libraries Joseph Branin, and other university and community leaders launched the official campaign.
“Brutus On Parade” features the creation of one-of-a-kind, seven-foot tall fiberglass Brutus Buckeye statues to be displayed around the city this spring. Each will have its own unique personality and will reflect creative themes. The first four statues to be part of the campaign will be unveiled at the event.
The Parade is designed to draw thousands of visitors who will have a substantial economic impact on Greater Columbus. The benefits for local businesses, sponsors, and designers are innumerable, while profoundly contributing to the renovation of a historic Columbus and; campus landmark.
Brutus Buckeye will be the canvas to highlight local designers and businesses with one of central Ohio’s largest ever community events. Check the Brutus on Parade web site for information on design submissions and sponsorship opportunities
