Naked Sunfish: Editor and head writer Rick Brown shared non-fiction from both his new book Naked Sunfish – Best Bites and the website. Elisa Philips and Emily Glenn presented some unpublished prose and recent poems published in Naked Sunfish at www.nakedsunfish.com. Also, Dr. John Bennett will read from new works in English, Spanish, Nahuatl, and Globbolalia.

Dr. Lisa Kiser, Leslie Lockett and Drew Jones from the Department of English presented Anglo-Saxon literature. The program included three of their graduate students specializing in Old English, Karen Bruce, Erin Szydloski, and Rachel Klippenstein. Selections from Beowulf; a lively passage by Wulfstan; a verse dialogue between Solomon and Saturn; and The Dream of the Rood were presented in Modern English but samples of the Old English originals will be included.

Dramatizations of the stories of James Thurber: The OSU Libraries’ Thurbrarians return to read dramatic adaptations of the stories of James Thurber. The second half of the program was a performance by the Thurber Chamber Theatre Company, presenting selections, quotations and cartoon captions from the works of Thurber.
The cast of the Thurbrarians includes Wes Boomgaarden, Nena Couch, Nick Felt, Debra Jackson, Bruce Leach, Christina Moore and John Mumaw presenting “The Catbird Seat,” “Come Across With the Facts,” and “A Moment With Mandy.”
The Thurber Chamber Theatre Company includes Pat Wynn Brown, Bruce Campbell, Sue Campbell, James Roberts and Paul Watkins. Their performance will include excerpts from ”University Days” and selections from Fables for Our Times, captions from Thurber Cartoons, and quotations.

Milena Moreno Moran and Oscar Burbano Figueroa read Cien Años deSoledad (One Hundred Years of Soltitude,1967) and two stories from Ojos de Perro Azul (Eyes of a Blue Dog) both authored by Gabriel García Márquez in Spanish.
American Sign Language (ASL) ReadAloud

This “ReadAloud” of poetry and children’s stories were presented in American Sign Language (ASL) by former OSU ASL students. It included visual materials to enhance the experience for those who do not know sign language.
