Plans are underway for a second Avant Symposium to be hosted by the Rare Books & MSS Library and its Avant Writing Collection. The first event was held in the summer of 2002, and was quite successful; people are still talking about it. The second symposium will be held August 19-21, 2010. Also planned is a concurrent exhibit at the Columbus College of Art and Design of visual poetry and experimental literary works from the Ruth and Marvin Sackner Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry in Miami.
