Use the library without leaving your car…try out the drive-thru window service at the Ackerman Library, 600 Ackerman Road. You can drop off materials you need to return, or pick up materials that you reserved, without having to park.
Window hours:
*Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
*Saturdays & Sundays, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
You’ll need either a valid (non-blocked) BUCK ID card or another picture ID, such as your driver’s license.
You can also use the book drop, located near the drive-through window, when the Library or the window is closed. Of course, we’re still happy to see you at the Circulation Desk–whichever option is most convenient for you.
So drive up and ring the bell!

A new service from the OSU Libraries gives students and researchers the ability to search multiple databases at the same time.
The service, available from the Libraries’ web site, library.osu.edu, lets customers select subject areas they want to include when conducting a database search. The feature then searches multiple databases that apply to the subject areas selected.
Multi-search selections cover 18 subject areas, such as “business and economics,” “health sciences,” “mathematics and physical sciences” and “news and current events.”
The service is available from either the “Quicklinks” column or the “Find Articles and More” in the search box.

Now you can export bibilographic data directly from the catalog record into Refworks.
When you conduct a catalog search and view an individual bibliographic record, you’ll see an “Export to RefWorks” button at the top of the page, next to the “Limit/Sort” button. Click it, sign into your RefWorks account, and the reference will be exported directly into RefWorks.
Please note: This feature is limited to records with an ISBN/ISSN, and for individual records only.

OSU:pro is a tool that will take advantage of pre-existing data and state-of-the-art technology that dramatically enhances our ability to document, report and share OSU’s greatest asset - the unique talent of over 17,000 faculty and professional staff in 18 colleges. When OSU:pro is fully developed the faculty and professional staff will be able to manage and report research, teaching and service activities; identify potential collaborators across disciplines; and generate curriculum vitae through the use of an easy-to-use web portal. University decision makers will be able to generate reports that showcase university strengths and areas of innovation. And students will be able find faculty and mentors in their area of interest. OSU:pro will streamline personnel work, end duplication of efforts in departmental reporting and save time and money.

The Libraries’ online catalog has a new, cleaner look that will enhance your search experience and help you find the resources you need. In addition to the new “look,” we’ve also updated some features:
You can now sign in once to your library record and request items without having to sign in again for each request. Once signed in, you can request items and even save up to 20 preferred searches to your library record. You can choose to be notified by email for your preferred searches by signing in, clicking “Preferred Searches” in your library record, and marking them for email.
We’ve added some enhanced content, including images of book covers (from Amazon, when available), and the ability to rate items you’ve read. Look for the stars in the item’s record — if you’re logged in, you can just rate items by choosing the number of stars you’d like to assign. You can change or delete these ratings at any time in your library record, by clicking the “My Ratings” link.
The keyword search now has an automatic relevancy ranking. You can also choose to sort your keyword results by date or by title.
Check it out.
