Forum with Third Library Director Candidate 9-9

An open forum with the third candidate for the Director of Libraries position, Colleen Cook, will be held on Wednesday, September 9 from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in Room 165 of the Thompson Library, 1858 Neil Ave. This session is for university faculty, staff, and students.
Colleen Cook has been Dean of Libraries at Texas A&M University since 2004. She served as interim dean and director the previous year. Other prior service includes a range of administrative appointments at Texas A&M, where she began her career as an academic librarian. At Texas A&M she is also the holder of the Sterling C. Evans Endowed Chair in Librarianship. Dean Cook was awarded a B.A. in German and an M.L.S. by the University of Texas at Austin. She earned an M.A. in European history and a Ph.D. in higher education administration at Texas A&M.
She is a member of the Board of the Association of Research Libraries and has performed considerable service for other professional organizations on both the state and national level.
