New look for Catalog

June 12th, 2007

The Libraries’ online catalog has a new, cleaner look that will enhance your search experience and help you find the resources you need. In addition to the new “look,” we’ve also updated some features:

You can now sign in once to your library record and request items without having to sign in again for each request. Once signed in, you can request items and even save up to 20 preferred searches to your library record. You can choose to be notified by email for your preferred searches by signing in, clicking “Preferred Searches” in your library record, and marking them for email.

We’ve added some enhanced content, including images of book covers (from Amazon, when available), and the ability to rate items you’ve read. Look for the stars in the item’s record — if you’re logged in, you can just rate items by choosing the number of stars you’d like to assign. You can change or delete these ratings at any time in your library record, by clicking the “My Ratings” link.

The keyword search now has an automatic relevancy ranking. You can also choose to sort your keyword results by date or by title.
Check it out.
