Wha’cha gonna do? October 19-21
October 19th, 2007
Reports from the front desk are that we have some very festive Halloween decorations currently going up, so come on over and see our handy-work.
Well, tonight at 6pm is the Homecoming Parade which begins at the stadium south-stands and after going up High St. will end at St. Johns Arena. The Homecoming Tailgate and Pep Rally will begin there at 7:30pm with the promise of free food and special guests.
The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D opens at pretty much all theaters today, so see it before it’s 3-week run is up. Definitely in my top-5 movies of all time.
Saturday is the last day of the Circleville Pumpkin Show. Yes, I know it’s really far away. But it’s worth it. They have pumpkin-related crafts, real pumpkins of various varieties (and their seeds to grow your own), a giant pumpkin pie, deep-fried pumpkin blossoms, a pumpkin-themed art exhibit, frozen cider, and every single dessert that can be made with pumpkin as an ingredient. My one piece of advice - steer clear of the pumpkin pizza….Nasty! That’s just my opinion.
At 8am on Sunday former FIN student employee Vicki (Kochman) Oatis and her husband Ben will be running in the Columbus Marathon. Vicki has run it before and finished. A good portion of the second-half of the race takes place around the campus area, so drag your lawn chair and some snacks out to the course and get comfortable while you cheer on people 1000 times more fit than you.
Have a good one! Gretchen
