Additional Illuminated Manuscripts Available in ArtSTOR.

The ArtSTOR Digital Library (accessible under “Research Libraries”) has added a new collection, the Index of Christian Art (Princeton University Library) collection of approximately 400-500 illuminated manuscripts. Two hundred manuscripts have been mounted so far in ArtSTOR. To access these images, search “Index of Christian Art” in the ArtSTOR database.

Library Orientations for New Grad Students

Orientations to the OSU Libraries system for new English grad students will be available at the following times:

  • Monday, Sept. 17, 10:30-11:30, 390 Science and Engineering Library
  • Tues., Sept. 18th, 1-2 pm, 390 Science and Engineering Library
  • Thurs., Sept. 20th, 3-4 pm–CANCELLED

(Students in Herman”s and Wheeler”s Engl 700 classes will be having their own specialized orientations on Friday, Sept. 21.)

Instant Messaging Reference Begins

Starting September 19, the Ohio State University Libraries are offering research assistance through Instant Messaging. Just add our screen name “ohiostaterefdesk” to your buddy list in AIM, Google Talk, MSN, or Yahoo. You can IM a Librarian Monday-Thursday from noon to midnight, Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. For more information, see http://library.osu.edu/help/im.php

Article Express Document Delivery Expanded

Article Express document delivery service expanded. Interlibrary Services now will scan to your email journal articles available in any campus library, except Health Sciences. No more treks to Sullivant in the snow. This is a free service. For more information see, Article Express under “Quick Links” on the library home page.

New database: 19th Century U.S. Newspapers (Gale)

The database 19th Century U.S. Newspapers is now available from the library catalog. This database includes many newspapers that are not included in America’s Historical Newspapers (Early American Newspapers) database.
