Danny has accomplished a lot in 2011 in regards to teaching. He continues to support nearly 1,000 first year engineering students through an engineering version of the Make the Leap Program that he adapted and helps to maintain. He continued as a member of the InfoLit Toolkit working group and now is part of the ongoing team to keep the toolkit active and growing. Danny was selected as a participant of the Instructor Development Program for 2011-12 and is developing some search skill building games as part of that program. And finally Danny organized a working group and began working towards revising net.TUTOR to give it a facelift, additional content, and more multimedia.

This award recognizes contributions to instruction in the Libraries over many years and is chosen from a group of peer nominations.
Fred's position with the libraries for 23 years has been in the area of instruction and not only has he filled this role through voluminous teaching responsibilities, but he has also done so as a skilled classroom teacher and an important contributer to a variety of innovative programs run through the office. These programs stretch back to The Gateway to Information, hiring the librariean to develop net.TUTOR, contributing to the conversion of the pencil and paper UVC 100 library assignment to the Make the Leap program, and as part of the team that developed the HeadHunt orientation game. His classroom presentations are too numerous to name, including 80 sessions in the last 5 years alone. He received letters of support from the instructor lead for the ESL 108 program he has contributed so greatly to, and from Virginia Tiefel herself.
Please direct questions regarding the awards to any member of the committee.
