Curricular Goals:
The OSU Libraries Information Studies curriculum focuses on information use, design, access, and policy issues and is multidisciplinary in nature. Students will:
- Understand and apply research methods to investigate questions related to the major area of study and interdisciplinary questions.
- Understand the economic, social, legal, political, and strategic value, and the ethical use of, information.
- Learn and apply critical thinking skills related to developing effective search strategies and evaluation of information resources.
- Learn about special collections and archives, the history and culture of the book and other media, access tools, and management issues.
- Learn effective strategies for knowledge management.
