Biography
Carol Pitts Diedrichs
Carol Pitts Diedrich
s is Director of University Libraries at The Ohio State University. From 2003-2009, she served as Dean of Libraries, William T. Young Endowed Chair at the University of Kentucky.
She is active in the American Library Association (ALA) and served as President of the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS), in 2004-2005. For 13 years, she served as editor-in-chief of the journal, Library Collections, Acquisitions, and Technical Services.
Carol is active in the Association for Research Libraries and was recently elected to a three year term on its Board of Directors. Most recently she also served two terms as the chairs of the SOLINET Board of Directors through its merger into the new organization, Lyrasis.
Carol is a frequent speaker, author and consultant. Her work has been recognized by three awards from the American Library Association including the 2008 Ross Atkinson Lifetime Achievement Award from ALCTS.
